A veterinary exam found that the puppy's belly was full of parasites and he weighed a mere 11 pounds. Additionally, the puppy, dubbed Bingo, was suffering from sarcoptic mange and a secondary bacterial infection, according to Moore, who said Bingo was also dehydrated and tested positive for Parvo. Luckily, Bingo's case wasn't severe, as he recovered quickly with treatment. Bingo was a bit timid and scared when he first arrived at Corridor Rescue. However, his upbeat spirit returned as his health improved.
@corridor.rescue Bingo has made his way home! After braving the Houston streets with nothing but a newspaper, our little paper boy won the hearts of so many people. We watched Bingo recover from both mange and Parvo, play with a real toy for the first time, and participate in his first puppy playgroup. We watched his ears grow to match his big personality and showed him what it meant to be loved. As application after application rolled in, for one reason or another, it never quite worked out between Bingo and his potential adopters. Some wanted younger, some wanted larger, one wanted him to live outdoors, and others still were turned away by his presumed breed. Bingo, who now goes by Chance, has truly been given his second chance by his new mom in Minnesota. She was not turned away by his age, appearance, breed, or past but rather drawn to his need for a loving home. Congratulations to Bingo and thank you to his new mom for showing him the life that he has always deserved! #streetdogrescue #fromthestreetstothesheets #houston #dogrescue #fosteringsaveslives #corridorrescue #fyp #activities #adoptdontshop #texas #adoptionjourney #transformation ♬ original sound - Corridor Rescue Inc.
"He became a spunky little fella, Moore to The Dodo, adding that young Bingo was as bright and vibrant as a puppy can get! Bingo, according to Moore, loved interacting with staff and volunteers and enjoyed all his toys.
Bingo began to fill out, gaining 8 pounds within the first four weeks at the rescue. Then, a search for a permanent, loving home for him began. And a mere three months after arriving at the rescue, Bingo found the perfect match in Saint Paul, Minnesota, traveling far from the deadly stretch of road where he'd been abandoned.
According to Moore, Bingo's new owner saw his listing for adoption and filled out an application with the rescue. Moore said Bingo left Texas on August 2 to live in Minnesota, with his owner, who has three kids.
Bingo, who is now a thriving and happy family dog, is renamed Chance by his new family, and he couldn’t have been more grateful for a second one. In an update to the rescue, Bingo's new owner said "We are a hockey family," adding that Bingo loves chasing pucks around after being introduced to the game.
