Mini Aussie Can't Contain Excitement As Owner Returns After 6 Weeks Away

A mini Aussie is so happy to see his owner

As much as you love your dog, there'll be some instances in which you can't take them with you on your trips. It’s definitely sad to have to leave our canine companions for a few days or maybe weeks, but sometimes it’s just not convenient or practical for them to come along. Consequently, most of us miss our dogs and wonder what or how they're doing when we are away. However, there is a positive to traveling without our dogs: The sweet reunion we get to have when we return home.

No matter how long you've been gone, you just can't get that kind of welcome from another person, and the video below proves it. Recently, an Instagram video of a sweet reunion between a woman and her mini Aussie, after six weeks apart, went viral. After being gone for a month and a half, the woman was worried her dog, named Marshall, wouldn't recognize her now that she's home. However, as it turns out, that couldn't be further from the truth!

Marshall was a little hesitant, though, when he first saw his owner. His body language in the video even suggests he was in disbelief that it's really his owner and it's totally understandable. However, it was only a matter of seconds later before Marshall was ecstatic to the absolute fullest. There was full-body wagging, jumping, and, needless to say, zoomies.

Dogs have excellent long-term memories, especially when it comes to those they love and associate positive feelings with. By all accounts, a dog will remember you — your smell, face, and voice for their entire lifetimes. So, rest assured that your dog will know exactly who you are when you return, even if you have to be separated for an extended period of time.
